[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 18th that it will hold a shopping event called 'Korea Gwangclick Festival' from the 21st of this month to the 1st of next month, providing a total of 11 billion KRW in shopping support funds within a total scale of 500 billion KRW.
'Korea Gwangclick Festival' is a large-scale shopping event first introduced by Lotte Homeshopping in 2020, recording over 2 million orders each time. The fourth edition of this event will be held under the concept of 'The Beginning of Infinite Shopping, Gwangclick Universe,' offering customers shopping services integrated with metaverse elements such as virtual spaces. Targeting early summer weather and the endemic (periodic epidemic) expectations, it will showcase the latest trends and premium products aimed at early bird demand for summer items, with a total scale of 500 billion KRW.
During the event period, a total of 11 billion KRW in 'Gwangclick Support Funds' will be provided. Every day, the first 100,000 customers will receive discount coupons worth 10,000 KRW. The official YouTube channel and other SNS platforms will release the title video 'Gwangclick Universe' for this Gwangclick Festival. Seven short-form contents featuring dance, called 'Gwangclick Festival Challenge,' will also be introduced. Among customers who purchase during the event, a lottery will be held to provide prizes such as a 'JTB Canada Travel Package' (1 person), 'Lotte Art Villas Accommodation Voucher' (10 people), 'Signiel Afternoon Tea Set' (10 people), and 'Lotte World Busan Free Pass' (100 people) as part of the 'Lotte Luxury 7' giveaway event. New members of the paid membership program 'L Club' will receive a 'KT Season 1-month subscription,' and among 2030 L Club customers, a 'Jeong Gil-hwan Golf Lesson Voucher' will be provided through a lottery.
Focusing on early bird demand to prepare for summer in anticipation of the endemic, summer products will be intensively organized. A special exhibition will introduce new summer items such as dresses and linen pants from exclusive fashion brands like LBL, Laurel, and Georges Rech. Beauty products will be featured in the 'Gwangclick Festival Limited Edition Cosmetics' special exhibition, including popular functional summer items such as 'Salon de Master Hair Serum,' 'Modamoda Shampoo,' and 'AHC Sun Cushion.' Recently resumed overseas travel products will be presented under the concept of 'Southeast Asia Travel Returns,' targeting the summer vacation season with package products to destinations like Cebu and Bohol. In celebration of May Family Month, kitchenware brands such as 'Villeroy & Boch,' 'Balmuda,' and 'Gottmann,' which sold out quickly in every broadcast, will be showcased in the Choi Yura Show Gwangclick Festival special. The lineup will also expand to include premium brand specials like 'Bodyfriend' and health supplements such as 'True Vitamin.'
On mobile, the 'Gwangclick Festival Metaverse Hall' will introduce Gwangclick Festival benefits, and customers can virtually experience and purchase about 20 actual products arranged in different spaces within XR-based showrooms categorized by fashion, home appliances, and furniture. Every day at midnight, time-limited specials such as 'Gwangclick NO.1' will offer the latest trending products like 'LG StanbyME' and 'Samsung The Freestyle' at super special prices. A lucky draw event will also be held, providing limited items such as 'Nike Dunk Low Vintage Green' to selected participants among event applicants.
Yoon Ji-hwan, Head of Marketing at Lotte Homeshopping, said, "We are holding the fourth 'Korea Gwangclick Festival,' which has become a representative shopping event in the industry, attracting attention with its massive scale each time. This year, with expectations of a COVID endemic, consumption is expected to focus on 'summer early bird' and 'premium' products, so we have expanded the related product lineup and will introduce a virtual shopping experience integrated with the metaverse for the first time."
