[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol said on the 17th, "Managing state affairs from the perspective of national interest and the people, and faithfully heeding the will of the people, is the first step toward unity."


On the same day, Yoon attended the '2022 Korean Church Easter Joint Worship' held at Yoido Full Gospel Church in the afternoon and said, "Self-sacrifice, dedication, and resurrection are the essence of the Christian spirit. I read in the worship booklet a request to unify a divided society."


He added, "I will deeply engrave the mission entrusted to me and sincerely do my best," and "I believe that the congregation will join me in prayer."


He continued, "The Korean church has been a strong support for neighbors in need by practicing Jesus' teachings even amid the COVID-19 crisis," and expressed his gratitude, saying, "I deeply appreciate your efforts in embracing the pains of our society and leading the formation of a warm community."


He also said, "We are now facing numerous crises and challenges. The domestic and international environment is severe, and low growth and polarization are urgent issues to be resolved," adding, "We must pool all our wisdom to lay the foundation for our economy's leap forward."


He emphasized, "If we practice the teachings of Jesus, who overcame suffering and adversity and resurrected, and if the greatness of our people is with us, we can turn all difficulties and crises into opportunities."
