[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] On the 15th, the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency held the 1st regular meeting of the Gyeongnam Police Agency Human Rights Committee.


The regular meeting held in the main building's first-floor conference room was attended by Lee Sang-ryul, head of the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency, the police leadership, and human rights committee members including Park Hoon, the chairman of the Human Rights Committee.


Last year's human rights protection activities of the Gyeongnam Police Agency and this year's human rights protection activity directions were shared, and consultations were heard to prevent complaints and recommendations from the National Human Rights Commission, as well as discussions on establishing human rights policies to become a leading institution in human rights protection.


A Gyeongnam Police Agency official stated, “We will spare no effort to promote human rights, including preparing various human rights policies, to become an institution leading in human rights protection.”


Park Hoon, chairman of the Human Rights Committee, said, “We express our gratitude to the Gyeongnam police who are making efforts in various ways to enhance public convenience and human rights protection,” and added, “We hope that they will continue to take the lead in protecting the human rights of not only the residents of Gyeongnam but all citizens.”


Chief Lee Sang-ryul said, “We ask for the continuous interest and cooperation of the human rights committee members so that we can establish human rights protection policies that meet the expectations of citizens,” and added, “Based on a culture of policing, we will improve human rights sensitivity and become the Gyeongnam police that prioritize human rights protection.”
