Dongbu Police Station Holds Crime Prevention Meeting in Cooperation with Dongmyeong-dong Volunteer Crime Prevention Unit

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Junho] The Gwangju Dongbu Police Station announced on the 15th that the Community Safety Division and Geumnam District Unit visited the Dongmyeong-dong Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit post to promote community policing activities.

This meeting was held ahead of the enforcement of the "Act on the Establishment and Operation of Autonomous Crime Prevention Units," which recently passed the Administrative Safety Committee. It aimed to encourage the efforts of autonomous crime prevention unit members, listen to their difficulties, and conduct joint night patrols in crime-vulnerable areas such as requested resident patrol zones (flexible patrols) and women’s safe return routes.

Kim Beomsang, chief of the Dongbu Police Station, said, “We will continue to activate community policing activities between the Dongbu Police Station and the autonomous crime prevention units and provide the best security services to the residents of Dong-gu.”
