Shin Yonghyun, spokesperson for the Transition Committee, said at a regular briefing held at the committee office in Tongui-dong, Seoul, in the afternoon, "The national tasks are being prepared in a four-tier structure consisting of national vision, national goals, promises to the people, and national tasks, and consultations between divisions are ongoing."
Spokesperson Shin added, "President-elect Yoon has set the standard that the priority of all national tasks of the new government must be the national interest of the people," and "Along with the selection of national tasks, he urged that specific implementation plans be well selected to keep promises to the people." He also added, "He requested comprehensive measures including price stabilization and minimizing damage to vulnerable groups due to interest rate hikes, emphasizing livelihood issues."
President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol said at the secretariat meeting held that day, "It seems that the daily lives that people actually feel are very difficult," and "Even though interest rate hikes are inevitable to some extent, I ask you to carefully consider measures to minimize damage to vulnerable groups caused by this."
Chairman Ahn responded, "We will do our best to meet President-elect Yoon's expectations and properly create national tasks that can open a new future for our country."
Spokesperson Shin explained, "The implementation strategy for promoting national tasks is being established in four stages considering the legislative conditions of the National Assembly: tasks that the government can pursue independently, tasks that can be cooperated with the opposition party, tasks necessary for issue preemption, and long-term tasks."
The Transition Committee will hold a closed plenary meeting at the Transition Committee's main conference room set up at the Financial Training Institute in Samcheong-dong for the selection of the second national tasks.
Prior to this, Chairman Ahn plans to hold a press conference at the Tongui-dong press room at 1:30 p.m. on the 17th of this month, one day before the selection of the second national tasks, marking one month since the launch of the Transition Committee.
