[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The representative spring festival of Jeonnam region, the ‘Hampyeong Butterfly Festival,’ will resume after 3 years.

According to the county on the 15th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s Regional Festival Review Committee conditionally approved the holding of the 24th Hampyeong Butterfly Festival on the 11th.

Accordingly, the Hampyeong Butterfly Festival, which was canceled due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, is expected to welcome visitors after 3 years.

However, since it is a conditional approval, the county must implement the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s strengthened quarantine measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Ministry’s approval conditions include ▲prohibition of eating and drinking at the event venue ▲expert review of indoor exhibition hall air conditioning facilities ▲revision of the number of pre-registrations relative to the maximum capacity ▲measures to disperse visitors to nearby tourist sites if the simultaneous capacity is exceeded ▲and dispersed placement of experience facilities for children.

A county official stated, “We will prepare strengthened quarantine rules to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and make thorough preparations so that visitors can enjoy a ‘safe festival’ with peace of mind.”

Meanwhile, the ‘24th Hampyeong Butterfly Festival’ will be held under the theme ‘Hampyeong Butterfly! Spreading Wings of Hope’ for 10 days from April 29 to May 8 at Hampyeong Expo Park and the Hampyeong-eup downtown area.
