Democratic Party Nomination Exclusion Kim Geun-jae and Kim Su-mi Mokpo City Council Members File 'Reconsideration Request'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Ahead of the June 1 local elections, incumbent city councilors Kim Geunjae and Kim Sumi decided to file a reconsideration request following the Democratic Party of Korea's decision to exclude candidates from nomination in the Mokpo area of Jeonnam.

On the 13th, the Democratic Party of Korea Jeonnam Provincial Party's Public Office Candidate Recommendation Management Committee sent nomination exclusion text messages to city councilors Kim Osu, Kim Geunjae, Kim Sumi, and Lee Geumi.

Accordingly, under the provincial party's regulation requiring reconsideration requests within 48 hours, the four incumbent city councilors each submitted their requests via email.

A representative of the Democratic Party of Korea Jeonnam Provincial Party stated, "As of last night (the 14th), reconsideration requests have been received from all four incumbent councilors, including Councilor Kim Sumi."
