[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Pil-gon, the newly appointed member of the Central Election Commission, was born in 1963 in Daegu. He graduated from Gyeongbuk High School, majored in Public Law at Seoul National University, and earned a master's degree in law from Korea University. He has served as a presiding judge at Daegu District Court, chief presiding judge at Seoul Northern District Court, president of Daejeon District Court, chairman of the Daejeon Election Commission, and presiding judge at Seoul High Court.

He is currently serving as the representative lawyer of the law firm Oneul.
