[Asia Economy reporters Naju-seok and Kwon Hyun-ji] Prosecutor General Kim Oh-soo requested the National Assembly on the 15th to initiate his 'impeachment.' He asked that if the prosecution is at fault, the head of the prosecution be held accountable. Prosecutor General Kim plans to meet with the Speaker of the National Assembly to appeal for blocking the passage of the "Complete Removal of Prosecution's Investigative Authority" law, known as Geomsu Wanbak.

Visiting the National Assembly again following the previous day, Kim told reporters, "If the prosecution has made mistakes, I believe the responsibility lies with me as the Prosecutor General leading the prosecution," adding, "I request that the National Assembly proceed with impeachment proceedings against me before the legislative process begins."

He continued, "I think it would be more appropriate to carry out the legislative process after the impeachment proceedings against me," and said, "I hope the legislative process will be conducted after thorough discussion and careful consideration. I am in a desperate state of mind."

Regarding the Geomsu Wanbak law, Kim stated, "I believe this bill should undergo sufficient discussion in the Special Committee on Criminal Justice System Reform, which includes the Ministry of Justice, prosecution, judiciary, and police," and added, "The legal community, academia, and civic groups should fully express their opinions through public hearings, debates, and academic papers." He also expressed that he considers the Geomsu Wanbak law "a bill that violates the Constitution."

Concerning his visit to the Speaker of the National Assembly, he said, "I intend to appeal with a sincere heart."
