[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Naver Whale is joining hands with AhnLab to enhance the security level of the web environment.

On the 14th, Naver and AhnLab signed a "Comprehensive Business Agreement for Enhancing Security Levels in the Web Environment." The signing ceremony, held via Naver Whale's video conferencing solution "Whale On," was attended by Whale's Lead Manager Kim Hyo and AhnLab's Marketing Director Lee Sang-guk, who pledged continuous cooperation between the two companies.

Through this agreement, both companies will leverage their respective technologies and service know-how to explore ways to provide a safer internet environment for Whale users. AhnLab will utilize its proprietary web security capabilities, including ▲malware detection ▲blocking harmful networks, vulnerabilities, phishing, and pharming ▲latest memory hacking defenses, to inspect and enhance the security of the Naver Whale browser by providing extensive insights.

Naver plans to improve the compatibility of AhnLab's web security solutions within the Whale browser and offer various know-how to enhance the performance of AhnLab's solutions in the web environment. Additionally, Naver will collect user requirements regarding web security and provide them to AhnLab. Through this, both companies aim to strengthen their competitiveness and create synergy by cooperating in the long term.

Kim Hyo, Lead Manager of Naver Whale, said, "We will explore various possibilities to enhance the competitiveness of both companies and establish a high-level security environment. Whale will continue to improve not only various solutions available to users but also essential foundational technologies such as security, aiming to become the most convenient browser for users."

Lee Sang-guk, Marketing Director of AhnLab, stated, "As non-face-to-face environments expand, web-based security threats continue to occur, making research and cooperation to build a safe web environment crucial. Through this MOU, AhnLab will combine its accumulated security capabilities with Naver's web service know-how to create a web environment where users can feel secure."

Meanwhile, Whale has developed and integrated its own phishing response technology into the browser. Utilizing phishing and security attack data collected domestically and internationally by Naver, it has developed and operates the ▲'Whale Safe Browsing' engine and ▲'Whale Client Side Detection' engine. These two engines are used to block illegal sites and prevent online phishing. With the cooperation with AhnLab, the technological capabilities of these two engines are also expected to be further enhanced.
