[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon]The Born Korea announced on the 15th that it has launched "Baekgeolli," a raw Makgeolli brewed using the "Samyangju technique," which combines the deep taste and rich aroma of the original wort.
Baekgeolli is a product developed after long consideration by CEO Baek Jong-won, made using Yesan rice and undergoing three fermentation processes to create Samyangju. According to CEO Baek, the process of fermenting the alcohol three times is called Samyangju; once is called Danyangju, and twice is called Iyangju.
The product features minimal dilution (gaseu, mixing water with the original wort to lower alcohol content), resulting in a deep alcohol flavor and smooth finish. It is produced at "Baeksuldoga," a brewery with a systematic production line from Baekse fermentation, steamed rice preparation, base alcohol, additional fermentation, fermentation, to bottling, ensuring cleaner quality.
Baekgeolli is a pure raw Makgeolli that does not contain synthetic sweeteners, highlighting the deep natural sweetness of rice. It is characterized by its thick and rich taste of the original wort, with an alcohol content of 14%. Depending on preference, it can be enjoyed as a straight shot or on the rocks with ice, and it is also good to dilute Baekgeolli with water at a 7:3 ratio for a smoother taste.
Baekgeolli is available at the Baeksuldoga brewery and Makiorum stores nationwide. However, at "Baeksuldoga," it is sold only in an open house format from Thursday to Sunday, between 2 PM and 6 PM.
