[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the 13th, the Nam-gu Fire Station of Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it has begun inspecting the simple rescue first aid kits installed on the hiking trails of Jeseoksan and Bunjeoksan mountains within its jurisdiction to be used in emergencies during mountain hiking.
This inspection was conducted to ensure the safety of citizens during the spring season when outdoor activities increase rapidly, by checking the emergency supplies in the simple rescue first aid kits, replenishing any missing items, and inspecting their external condition.
The "simple rescue first aid kits" are stocked with 13 types of items for basic emergency treatment such as pressure bandages, spray pain relief patches, wound ointments, and disinfectants for fractures and abrasions. There are a total of six kits installed: five at Jeseoksan and one at Bunjeoksan.
Go Jung-hyun, head of the 119 Disaster Response Team, said, "The simple rescue first aid kits can prevent major accidents through basic emergency treatment, and since they are stocked with first aid supplies, we hope hikers will actively use them by inquiring about the kit key number from 119 if injured during hiking."
