Jang Man-chae, Suncheon Mayor Preliminary Candidate, "Will Expand and Revise Bicycle Roads"

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Jang Man-chae, a preliminary candidate for Suncheon mayor, announced in a press release on the 13th, "We will comprehensively renovate and expand bicycle roads within the city to improve convenience for citizens who use bicycles and for recreational athletes."

Candidate Jang diagnosed, "As interest in the environment and recreational sports increases, the number of citizens using bicycles is rising, but in Suncheon, except for Dongcheon, bicycle road maintenance has not been done, causing inconvenience."

In particular, Candidate Jang added, "In cases where there is only one lane one way or sidewalks are narrow, it is difficult to secure bicycle roads, resulting in confusion where pedestrians and bicycle users overlap."

Accordingly, Candidate Jang stated, "We will conduct a comprehensive inspection of all bicycle roads in the city and outskirts of Suncheon to secure at least the minimum space so that bicycles can move smoothly."

Candidate Jang said, "We will renovate such sports infrastructure one by one so that Suncheon can establish itself as a genuine sports tourism city," and added, "We will make Suncheon a sports training base visited by many athletes worldwide, leading to revitalization of the local economy."

Candidate Jang served as president of Suncheon University and as the 16th and 17th superintendent of education in Jeonnam. During the last presidential election, he also served as co-chairman of the Jeonnam joint election campaign committee for candidate Lee Jae-myung and as a standing member of the Balanced Growth Committee.
