[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 13th that it has appointed 23 local stores in Sansu 1-dong and Gyelim 1-dong as ‘Atta! Neighbors’ and will actively promote the ‘Addiction-Free Warm Sangye Village’ project.

This project is part of the Dong-gu Social Security Special Support Zone ‘Atta! Project’ and is a community participation project aimed at widely raising awareness of the seriousness of gambling, drug, alcohol, and internet addiction, preventing their damage, and creating a safe village environment.

Dong-gu plans to install addiction testing equipment at the 23 local stores in Sangye Village appointed as ‘Atta! Neighbors’ in cooperation with the Dong-gu Integrated Addiction Management Support Center and provide customized welfare support for each target individual.

To this end, education will be provided for ‘Atta! Neighbors’ on ▲understanding addiction ▲how to connect addicts to institutions ▲how to respond in emergency situations. For more details such as applying for addiction testing equipment, please contact the Dong-gu Office Welfare Policy Division or the Dong-gu Integrated Addiction Management Support Center.

A Dong-gu official said, “This project is a resident-led welfare project aimed at providing sustainable welfare services through strengthening residents’ capabilities,” and added, “We look forward to the active participation of the 23 local stores that voluntarily joined the ‘Addiction-Free Warm Sangye Village Project.’”
