[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 13th that it is making every effort to prevent infectious diseases by providing rapid antigen test kits free of charge to vulnerable groups (infants, pregnant women, severely disabled persons, welfare facility users, etc.).
Since February, the county has distributed initial supplies to elderly users of welfare facilities and children (and workers) at daycare centers, and so far, it has supplied a total of 68,950 rapid antigen test kits in six rounds to 8,415 people including pregnant women and severely disabled persons, striving to stabilize COVID-19 by early detection and treatment of confirmed cases.
A county official said, "We will expand the distribution of rapid antigen test kits to 1,028 people including social welfare facility and service workers and long-term care workers to reduce their purchasing burden and do our best to prevent the spread of Omicron through voluntary preemptive testing."
