[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] BMW unveiled the large sports utility vehicle (SUV) New X7 for the first time on the 13th. As a facelift model, the company calls it the flagship of the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV).
For the first time, split headlights divided into upper and lower sections have been applied. The upper part includes daytime running lights, turn signals, and position lights, while the lower part contains high beam and low beam lights. The new adaptive matrix LED headlights automatically function as front fog lights in adverse weather conditions. The front grille features lighting as standard or optional depending on the model. Inside, the digital instrument cluster has been updated. The gear selector lever has also been changed. BMW Live Cockpit Plus based on BMW OS 8 is provided as standard. A Digital Key Plus function utilizing broadband wireless technology has been added.
The New X7 M60i xDrive is equipped with a new V8 4.4ℓ M TwinPower Turbo gasoline engine delivering a maximum output of 530 horsepower and a peak torque of 76.5 kg·m. The New X7 xDrive 40i, which features the latest generation inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine for the first time, has increased its output by 47 horsepower compared to before, reaching a maximum output of 380 horsepower and a peak torque of 53 kg·m. The diesel model is powered by an inline 6-cylinder diesel engine producing 352 horsepower and 71.4 kg·m of torque. Intelligent all-wheel drive is standard on all models.
Additionally, air suspension is standard on all models. The M60i comes standard with the Executive Drive system, which includes Integral Active Steering and Active Roll Stabilization functions, and for the first time in BMW model history, 23-inch lightweight alloy wheels are available as an option.
Furthermore, even when the front collision warning system is deactivated, it detects potential collisions to reduce risk, and a new exit warning function is provided. Features to assist with reversing during parking and trailer towing have been added. The new vehicle also includes a maneuver assistant function that performs stored driver actions as is. It is scheduled to be released domestically in the fourth quarter.
