[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] CJ Logistics is taking the lead in preventing traffic accidents by attaching more than 3,000 "Beware of Blind Spots" stickers to about 1,000 delivery cargo vehicles.

On the 13th, CJ Logistics announced that it will conduct a "Beware of Blind Spots" traffic safety campaign in collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, Korea Transportation Safety Authority, and the Cargo Welfare Foundation.

CJ Logistics will attach more than 3,000 "Beware of Blind Spots" stickers on three sides?the driver's seat, passenger seat, and cargo area?of about 1,000 delivery cargo vehicles operated by the company. The stickers contain warning messages about the dangers of blind spots, which are expected to raise awareness not only among large cargo vehicle drivers but also among pedestrians using nearby roads.

This campaign, launched this month, was planned to attach "Beware of Blind Spots" stickers to large cargo vehicles operating in Seoul and to inform citizens about the dangers of blind spots.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to attach stickers to a total of about 5,000 vehicles, including cargo trucks, water spraying trucks, and cleaning vehicles it operates in addition to the delivery cargo vehicles of CJ Logistics. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency will actively crack down on traffic violations such as intersection passage and signal violations to help prevent blind spot traffic accidents and will also support the distribution of "Beware of Blind Spots" stickers.

A blind spot refers to an area where a vehicle driver cannot see adjacent vehicles or pedestrians due to obstacles. In particular, large cargo vehicles have much larger and wider blind spots than passenger cars because of their size and height.

In fact, in France, a leading country in traffic safety, since January 2021, it has been mandatory to attach blind spot warning signs to all large vehicles over 3.5 tons, including cargo trucks, buses, and campers.

A CJ Logistics official said, "We are pleased to contribute to South Korea's advancement as a traffic safety leader," and added, "We will continue to work together with the public and private sectors to prevent traffic accidents in advance and to foster traffic safety awareness."
