National Tax Service Begins Tax Investigation on Ildong Pharmaceutical... Some Data Secured

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Myunghwan] The National Tax Service has launched a tax investigation into Ildong Pharmaceutical and has begun securing materials.

According to the pharmaceutical industry and others, on the 12th, the National Tax Service dispatched employees to Ildong Pharmaceutical's headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul, to review documents and secured some of them.

The investigation on that day was conducted by the 4th Investigation Division of the Seoul Regional Tax Office. The 4th Investigation Division is generally known to handle non-regular special tax investigations rather than regular tax audits.

The last tax investigation of the Ildong Pharmaceutical Group was in 2018. At that time, the holding company Ildong Holdings underwent a tax investigation by the National Tax Service.
