[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 12th that it has launched the 'Incheon Mathematics Education Platform,' where students can explore and experience mathematics in an online virtual space.
The mathematics platform is a virtual learning space that shares experiential materials and outputs discovered through math-related student presentation competitions such as the Incheon Math Festival, aimed at supporting online self-directed math exploration learning and educational recovery.
The platform includes eight spaces: a remote classroom for online lessons or small group activities, an auditorium for online presentations, a resource room exhibiting students' works and videos, an exhibition hall showcasing entries from the Incheon Student Statistics Utilization Contest, a math clinic counseling space, and more.
Each school can rent online spaces within the platform to upload desired materials and utilize them in curriculum operation.
An official from the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education stated, "The math platform is a learning space based on 3D metaverse technology, enabling more realistic remote education compared to existing learning platforms," adding, "It will help students recover their math learning by allowing them to independently conceive new ideas and refer to creative outputs."
