[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Products from 54 Korean small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are being exhibited at Vietnam's largest comprehensive trade fair, the 'Vietnam Expo,' which opened on the 13th. This is the largest scale among overseas participating countries.

On the 13th, KOTRA announced that, together with Incheon Technopark, it is operating the Korean Pavilion showcasing products from our SMEs at the Vietnam Expo, Vietnam's largest comprehensive trade fair held for four days until the 16th. Now in its 31st edition, the Vietnam Expo is hosted by the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and features about 400 companies from 15 countries including Korea, China, Indonesia, the United States, and Cuba. The event attracts over 10,000 visitors, making it a large-scale exhibition.

KOTRA has organized the Korean Pavilion for the 23rd time since 1999. Notably, this year marks the 30th anniversary of Korea-Vietnam diplomatic relations, and Korea has been granted honorary participant country status. With 54 participating Korean companies, the Korean Pavilion boasts the largest scale among overseas participants.

The Korean Pavilion exhibits a variety of products including cosmetics, food and beverages, materials and equipment, and fashion and accessories, with consumer goods such as cosmetics and food and beverages accounting for more than 70%. Participating companies plan to not only promote their products at this Vietnam Expo but also actively seek potential partners.

KOTRA Hanoi Trade Center has supported companies that find it difficult to participate directly in Vietnamese exhibitions due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic by ▲ hiring exhibition staff and conducting consultation training since February this year, and ▲ producing Vietnamese promotional materials for each participating company, facilitating over 280 customized video consultations.

At the exhibition site, exhibition staff conduct initial consultations with buyers visiting the exhibition on behalf of participating companies. After the exhibition period, follow-up consultations will be arranged to provide continuous support. Lee Jong-seop, Head of KOTRA Southeast Asia and Oceania Regional Headquarters, said, “Many of our SMEs and mid-sized companies are facing difficulties in exports due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. Through the Korean Pavilion project at this Vietnam Expo, we will actively support our companies' entry into the Vietnamese market.”
