[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun announced on the 12th that it has entered the acting county governor system under Lee Gwang-dong ahead of the nationwide local simultaneous elections to be held on June 1.

Acting County Governor Lee Gwang-dong held a policy discussion meeting with department heads the day before and emphasized thoroughness in carrying out current tasks without any leakage under the acting system.

At the discussion meeting, Acting County Governor Lee Gwang-dong instructed meticulous work to ensure no administrative gaps occur due to the transition to the acting system, and subsequently ordered active county administration including safety inspections of steep slopes during the thawing season, payment of this year's Jeonnam-type farmer and fisherman public interest allowance, promotion of changes in the COVID-19 quarantine system, and thorough payment of COVID-19 living support funds.

The county plans to do its best to prevent any administrative gaps by switching to the acting county governor system under Lee Gwang-dong after Kim Soon-ho, the county governor of Gurye, registered as a preliminary candidate for the 8th nationwide simultaneous local elections on the 8th.

In particular, at the first policy discussion meeting with department heads held after entering the acting county governor system, Acting Governor Lee Gwang-dong asked department heads to carefully manage various ongoing projects and civil affairs to prevent any administrative leakage.

Furthermore, as election campaigns for the simultaneous local elections are beginning in earnest, he instructed public officials to maintain election neutrality and strict public service discipline to prevent any unfortunate incidents caused by election interference.

Acting Governor Lee Gwang-dong said, “Since the head of the local government is absent, please carefully manage various projects to prevent any administrative gaps,” and added, “Make sure to carry out election-related tasks thoroughly.”

Meanwhile, Acting County Governor Lee Gwang-dong plans to inspect county administration by visiting sites such as the Gurye 5-Day Market facility modernization project, the complex plaza creation project for urban regeneration, and the self-parking tower construction project as his first official activities after entering the acting system.
