[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon National University (President Ko Young-jin) announced on the 12th that it will hold a policy seminar titled "Status and Issues of National-Centered and Public University Graduate Schools" in the large conference room on the 3rd floor of the university headquarters from the 14th to the 15th.
This event is the first policy seminar held by 19 national-centered and public university graduate schools. In January, the deans of eight national-centered and public university graduate schools gathered at the Ramada Renaissance Hotel in Jeju City and decided to hold it at Suncheon National University.
The policy seminar will be attended by deans of 14 national-centered and public university graduate schools nationwide, with congratulatory remarks by Ko Young-jin, president of Suncheon National University, and Song Jin-gyu, chairman of the National Association of Graduate School Deans of National and Public Universities.
At the seminar, Professor Kim Sora of the Department of Social Welfare at Suncheon National University will give a keynote presentation on "Status and Issues of National-Centered and Public University Graduate Schools," followed by discussions led by Oh Yang-gi, dean of Mokpo National University Graduate School; Song Hee-won, dean of Andong National University Graduate School; Oh Kyung-sik, dean of Gangneung-Wonju National University Graduate School; and Lee Yoon-chul, vice president of Korea Maritime and Ocean University.
Notably, the seminar will feature the announcement of policy research results conducted mainly by Suncheon National University and Mokpo National University, drawing attention as it is the first time that the status and issues related to national-centered and public university graduate schools have been surveyed and presented.
Ko Young-jin, president of Suncheon National University, stated, "Through this policy seminar, I hope that networking and policy development among national-centered and public university graduate schools will become regularized."
Kang Sung-ho, dean of the Graduate School at Suncheon National University and organizer of this policy seminar, expressed the opinion, "We will strive to foster competitive fields in national-centered and public university graduate schools to contribute to balanced regional development."
