[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Jung-wan] Food columnist Hwang Kyo-ik argued that the standard the prosecution applied to Cho Min, daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, should also be applied to the children of ministers in the Yoon Seok-yeol administration.

On the 11th, Hwang stated on his Facebook, "I hope President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol treats the new ministers with a consistent standard."

He pointed out, "People should be consistent. Especially when politicians are capricious, the public falls into confusion. When Yoon Seok-yeol was Prosecutor General, he thoroughly investigated almost everything about Cho Kuk and his family regarding Cho's appointment as Minister of Justice, sending Cho's wife to prison and stripping his daughter of her academic credentials."

He continued, "The ministers appointed by President-elect Yoon should disclose to the public the certificates of commendation and internship certificates their children received during their school years and undergo verification under 'Yoon Seok-yeol's standard.' If even a single falsehood is found, an investigation by the prosecution should be requested and academic credentials should be revoked. I hope President-elect Yoon treats the new ministers with a consistent standard," he demanded.

In another post, Hwang urged the Democratic Party of Korea, "I hope you secure and disclose the school life records and internship confirmation documents used by the children of ministerial candidates nominated by President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol in admissions and other matters," emphasizing, "They should be verified under the 'Yoon standard,' and if even a single falsehood is found, an investigation by the prosecution should be requested."

Earlier, Hwang also shared a Facebook post calling for "the 'Yoon Seok-yeol standard' applied to the Cho Kuk family to be applied to the Yoon family and officials of the Yoon administration."
