[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, YGPA) awarded scholarships totaling 15 million KRW to 15 students at Korea Port Logistics High School located in Jinsang-myeon, Gwangyang-si on the 5th.


Starting with the scholarship award ceremony on this day, the authority plans to distribute a total of over 50 million KRW in scholarships to about 100 middle and high school students in the Yeosu and Gwangyang areas recommended by the local education support office this year.


The scholarships, provided with the purpose of nurturing local talent, are intended not only for students with sincere conduct and excellent academic performance but also for socially disadvantaged students such as those from grandparent-headed or single-parent families, so they can focus on their studies without financial burden, the authority explained.


At the scholarship award ceremony, President Park Seong-hyun said, “Do not stop taking steps toward your future dreams, and grow into workers who fulfill the role of light and salt for the local community,” adding, “The authority plans to continue providing happiness scholarships for more future talents in the region.”
