[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the 5th, the Ministry of Unification stated that it "takes seriously" the remark made by Kim Yo-jong, Deputy Director of the North Korean Workers' Party, referring to North Korea's status as a "nuclear-armed state" in her statement criticizing South Korea.
A Ministry of Unification official told reporters on the same day, "Since the situation on the Korean Peninsula is more fluid than ever, we will do our utmost to manage the situation on the Korean Peninsula peacefully."
However, the official also noted that they are paying attention to the fact that North Korea moderated its tone in the statement by referring to the South as "the same people who should not fight."
