[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Democratic Party of Korea's Gwangju Metropolitan City Party is making every effort to select clean candidates in the June 1 nationwide simultaneous local elections.
On the 5th, the Democratic Party's Gwangju City Party announced that it will operate a tip-off center for applicants for public office candidate nominations.
The tip-off center is operated to select clean candidates that meet citizens' expectations, and any citizen can report issues involving candidates.
There is no designated form, and reports can be freely submitted including supporting evidence.
Inquiries about reporting methods can be made to the Gwangju City Party for detailed guidance.
The party will appoint a party official in charge of the tip-off center to prevent external leakage of the reports and to thoroughly protect the identity of the informants.
The center will operate until the primaries of each election begin, and it will verify the authenticity of the reports and report to the Public Office Candidate Recommendation Management Committee so that it can be reflected in the nominations.
