A total of 28 youths from eight out-of-school youth support centers in cities and counties across the province are expected to participate in Job A Dream.
This is a step-by-step program that provides various job experience opportunities to strengthen the independence motivation of out-of-school youth and increase their willingness to find employment.
▲ Support for training participation and workplace experience expenses ▲ Support for acquiring certifications through professional academy connections ▲ Customized career exploration programs such as professional vocational training and employment linkage are provided.
Starting with career counseling and career aptitude tests in the first stage, the program proceeds step-by-step through the second stage of employment and labor education and independence motivation enhancement programs, the third stage of basic technical training, the fourth stage of workplace experience, and the fifth stage of linkage with professional vocational training institutions and employment processes.
The job competency enhancement program for the first half of this year covers eight occupational fields: barista, baking and pastry, hair and beauty, cooking skills, IT specialization, pet grooming, bartending skills, and nail art.
Any out-of-school youth aged 15 to 24 can participate, and those who complete the four-month course will receive support payments for training participation and workplace experience.
For details on how to participate and apply, inquiries can be made at the 20 out-of-school youth support centers in cities and counties across the province.
An official from the province stated, “According to the 2020 survey on out-of-school youth in Gyeongsangnam-do, the most desired policies among out-of-school youth were career exploration at 76% and vocational training education at 74%. This job competency program will be an opportunity to meet the needs of out-of-school youth in Gyeongnam.”
Center Director Kwon Hyuk-do said, “We hope this will be an opportunity to provide systematic employment support to vocational youths, nurture the dream of social entry for out-of-school youth, and give them confidence to participate in social activities.”
