[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Dongwha Pharm announced on the 5th that it held a ceremony on the 4th at the Seoul branch of the Korean Red Cross to deliver the proceeds from the sale of the 124th anniversary edition of Hwalmyungsu.

The funds delivered through the Korean Red Cross will be used, as in the previous year, to build and improve water and sanitation facilities in the Dailek region of Nepal, as well as to support health and hygiene education and campaign activities for local residents. The annual donation of proceeds from the sale of the Hwalmyungsu anniversary edition is part of the "Water that Saves Lives" campaign, which provides safe drinking water and sanitary environments to countries around the world facing water shortages.

Kim Heung-kwon, chairman of the Seoul branch of the Korean Red Cross, said, "We are pleased to be able to support the Dailek region of Nepal, which suffers from poor water and sanitation facilities, again this year with Hwalmyungsu," adding, "We hope this will help local residents who face many inconveniences due to the lack of social infrastructure to lead stable daily lives."

Kim Dae-hyun, executive director of Dongwha Pharm, said, "We consider it meaningful to convey the value of Hwalmyungsu, which saves lives, to many people who are experiencing even greater difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic," adding, "We will continue to honor the value of Hwalmyungsu and fulfill our social responsibility as a company that practices sharing."
