원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Hanwha Solutions Q CELLS Division (Hanwha Q CELLS) has expressed its ambition to establish itself as a global eco-friendly energy brand encompassing sustainable energy production, storage, and management, moving beyond its focus on solar module manufacturing.
On the 5th, Hanwha Q CELLS held an online briefing session called 'Q CELLS Brand Day' for its employees and introduced its new brand identity. The new logo uses a gradient of green and blue to represent the vision of producing energy from nature and delivering it to humanity.
The logo symbolizes the company's determination to grow by creating synergy across four major business areas: solar modules, energy storage systems (ESS), distributed energy business, and renewable energy development.
Hanwha Q CELLS is making significant efforts to reduce carbon emissions throughout its entire management process. In February last year, it became the first company in the domestic renewable energy industry to declare participation in RE100 and is participating in the Korean-style RE100 system through the green premium system and self-generation.
Based on its strong brand power in the global solar market, Hanwha Q CELLS has expanded its business areas in the eco-friendly energy sector. According to the U.S. market research firm Wood Mackenzie, as of 2020, Hanwha Q CELLS achieved the number one market share in the U.S. residential solar module market for three consecutive years and in the commercial module market for two consecutive years.
Hanwha Q CELLS has started applying the new BI to its products, packages, official website, and social media, aiming to complete the process by June. The company plans to showcase products featuring the new BI for the first time at the '2022 International Green Energy Expo' held in Daegu on the 13th, and will prominently present the new brand image to global customers at the Intersolar exhibition in Munich, Germany, starting May 11.
Lee Gu-young, CEO of Hanwha Q CELLS, said, "Having grown as a global leader in the industry for over 10 years since entering the solar business in 2010, it is time to change our brand identity to reflect our expanded vision and business areas. We will leap forward as the best brand by pursuing differentiated and complete eco-friendliness through a challenging attitude, responsibility toward humanity and the environment, and perfect products and services."
