Labo H, Launches First Vegan-Certified Shampoo Bar with Hair Loss Symptom Relief Functionality

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Labo H announced on the 5th that it has launched a functional solid shampoo bar for alleviating hair loss symptoms, certified vegan by the Korea Vegan Certification Institute.

The ‘Labo H Scalp Strengthening Shampoo Bar’ is a product that fundamentally addresses scalp concerns such as hair loss caused by stress and external stimuli at a younger age, while also meeting the needs of the MZ generation who value ethical consumption.

Generally, shampoo bars undergo dilution and heating processes during manufacturing, but the Scalp Strengthening Shampoo Bar is made using a compression tablet method, which prevents the product containing active ingredients from easily softening. Human application tests have verified its effectiveness in improving scalp keratin and fine dust, and it excludes seven specific ingredients including silicone oil and animal-derived materials.

The packaging is made from eco-friendly paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and printed with soy ink made from soybean oil. Since no sticker adhesives are used, no plastic waste is generated. Additionally, the shampoo bar is 99% biodegradable, alleviating concerns about water pollution after use.

Roh Byung-kwon, Executive Director of Marketing at Daily Beauty, said, “Through the new Scalp Strengthening Shampoo Bar, we aim to break the prejudice that ‘shampoo bars are stiff and do not produce much foam’ and provide customers with a healthy consumption opportunity to participate in zero waste practices.”
