[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Four men and women in their teens and twenties were arrested by the police for killing an acquaintance they met through internet personal broadcasting by beating him with a blunt weapon and disposing of the body.

The Suwon Southern Police Station in Gyeonggi announced on the 5th that they plan to request arrest warrants for a man in his twenties, Mr. A, and two high school students in their teens on charges of injury resulting in death and corpse abandonment. The police also booked a woman in her twenties, Ms. B, without detention.

Mr. A and others are accused of killing a man in his twenties, Mr. C, whom they met while doing internet live broadcasting at Mr. A’s residence in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon City, in early last month by beating him with a baseball bat and other blunt weapons, and then abandoning the body by a river in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon City.

The case was uncovered after Mr. C’s family reported him missing to the police in mid-month, stating that they had lost contact with him. Upon receiving the report, the police found evidence of a crime based on testimonies from people around and discovered Mr. C’s body on the 4th, subsequently arresting the four suspects one by one.

The police are currently investigating the detailed circumstances of the incident.
