HiteJinro first participated in the Beautiful Forest creation project in 2019, and this time, it joined again to help restore areas damaged by wildfires. To restore the forests in Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, which suffered significant damage from last month's wildfire, HiteJinro is collaborating with the Beautiful Store Foundation and the Peace Forest Association to manage the area continuously for three years until 2024. HiteJinro CEO Kim In-kyu and officials from Beautiful Store and Peace Forest held a signing ceremony for this agreement yesterday at the Beautiful Store Seoul headquarters.
After completing the cleanup work of the wildfire-damaged site, HiteJinro plans to plant 3,000 trees in the second half of the year and support and manage tree planting annually until 2024 to contribute to the normalization of the forest.
HiteJinro CEO Kim In-kyu said, "I hope the forest damaged by the wildfire will be restored quickly and regain a healthy ecosystem," adding, "As HiteJinro approaches its 100th anniversary, we will continue to strive to fulfill our social role as a company leading environmental protection practices."
