Dongkook Pharmaceutical Signs Agreement to Support Oral Hygiene Products for Seongbundo Welfare Center for the Disabled

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Dongkook Pharmaceutical announced on the 31st that it held a business agreement ceremony for the oral hygiene product support project to operate the newly established oral health room for the disabled at Seongpundo Welfare Center in Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi Province, in celebration of the ‘14th Gum Day.’

Dongkook Pharmaceutical supports toothpaste and toothbrush sets to be used for educational purposes in the oral health room to improve gum health for the disabled, and plans to discuss additional product support in the future.

Park Hyuk, Director of Dongkook Pharmaceutical, said, “People with disabilities find it difficult to manage oral hygiene on their own, making them more vulnerable compared to non-disabled individuals, and it is known that related facilities and infrastructure are also lacking. We have participated in the oral health room support project for the disabled as an extension of the ‘Gum Day’ campaign conducted with the Korean Academy of Periodontology to promote the gum health of the public.”

Kim Myung-ok (Sister Cresencia), Director of Seongpundo Welfare Center, said, “Dental health is important for everyone, but especially for people with developmental disabilities who find self-care difficult and therefore need a lot of help. We deeply appreciate Dongkook Pharmaceutical for supporting the dental health of people with disabilities.”

Dongkook Pharmaceutical carries out social contribution activities such as ‘Gum Day,’ which raises awareness of the importance of gum health, and the ‘Parents’ Love and Gratitude Campaign’ to reflect on the meaning of filial piety, by donating part of the proceeds from ‘Insadol’ and ‘Insadol Plus’ to society. They also operate the ‘Insadol Plus Love Volunteer Group,’ composed of employees.
