[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters will hire 81 temporary 119 paramedic workers within this month in preparation for the increase in COVID-19 confirmed cases.


The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters announced on the 15th that, as part of establishing a seamless emergency transport system for transporting confirmed patients, they decided to hire temporary workers to operate reserve ambulances and reinforce the boarding of three paramedics.


The scale of this recruitment includes 61 paramedic dispatch assistants and 20 paramedic situation management assistants. They will work temporarily for six months from the date of hiring. The contract period may be extended depending on the COVID-19 situation.


Applicants must hold a Level 1 Emergency Medical Technician or nurse certification. Recruitment will be conducted through the province's 'Temporary Smart Recruitment Application System (https://apply.jobaba.net)'.


The hiring will be carried out this month through internal document screening and interviews at each fire station and the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters Disaster Comprehensive Command Center.


Choi Byung-il, head of the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters, said, "We plan to further strengthen the emergency transport system through this temporary worker recruitment," adding, "We will do our best to provide high-quality emergency medical services to all residents of the province."
