On the 25th, Hong Jin-pyo, the chief judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Southern District Court, dismissed the arrest warrant for Mr. A, a man in his 50s, who is accused of special trespassing and special threats.

Judge Hong stated, "The suspect has a fixed residence, and the motive for the crime appears somewhat impulsive. Considering the circumstances and details of the crime, there seems to be room for leniency. He acknowledges the specific facts, shows remorse, and cooperates with the investigation, making it difficult to see any risk of evidence tampering or flight."

Mr. A is accused of attempting self-immolation on the 2nd floor sponsorship office of the People Power Party Central Party Office in Yeouido on the 24th. It is reported that Mr. A was subdued by a People Power Party staff member during the attempt, resulting in an incomplete act.
