[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gyeongsan City, Gyeongbuk Province, announced on the 24th that it will carry out street tree pruning work until mid-March to improve the growth environment of street trees and create a pleasant street environment.

This project will invest a budget of 200 million KRW to maintain about 1,500 trees along a 23 km round-trip section in Wachon Palgong-ro and Geumsong-ro, Namcheon Gwanbang-ro, and the downtown area.

The pruning work is conducted to improve inconveniences such as street trees blocking traffic signs and traffic safety facilities, and concerns about traffic accidents caused by power distribution lines and communication network lines, as well as to create a natural environment.

The work will be done without hindering the growth and shape of the trees, and the working hours will be adjusted to minimize inconvenience to citizens during the operation.

A Gyeongsan City official said, “We will do our best to maintain clean and beautiful streets and to increase access and interest in street trees among citizens.”
