[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] TMON announced on the 22nd that it will open an online 'Dokdo Market.' On the same day, at 4 PM, the 'Dokdo Market Live Broadcast' will air on TMON's live commerce TVON, featuring Professor Seo Kyung-duk from Sungshin Women's University, who will interact with customers in real time. This special program was prepared in response to Shimane Prefecture in Japan designating the day as 'Takeshima Day' and holding large-scale events to assert territorial claims over Dokdo.

The Dokdo Market is a project initiated by Professor Seo Kyung-duk since 2019 to support social enterprises and startups that produce various products related to Dokdo but face difficulties in sales and marketing, connecting them with people who want to purchase these products. Companies participating in the Dokdo Market project were selected mainly among social enterprises that donate a portion of their sales revenue to the development of Dokdo. About 40 types of Dokdo-related products will be sold at discounts of up to 43%.

Professor Seo said, "Many good companies supporting the development of Dokdo, a territory of the Republic of Korea, are struggling to open sales channels, so we hold the Dokdo Market project every year to support them. I expect that this year's online Dokdo Market with TMON will be an opportunity to promote Dokdo-related products to a wider audience."

Park Sung-ho, Head of the Partnership Strategy Division at TMON, said, "This online Dokdo Market was prepared as a follow-up campaign to the live broadcast on Dokdo with Professor Seo Kyung-duk on October 25th last year, which was Dokdo Day. We will strive to ensure that this is not a one-time event but that customers will continuously remember us as protectors of Dokdo."
