[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] On the 17th, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk held a plaque ceremony at the 'Materials and Components Convergence Support Center' and embarked on establishing and revitalizing a new industry materials and components ecosystem led by local small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies.


The Gumi Materials and Components Convergence Support Center is equipped with equipment and facilities for manufacturing and creation to realize companies' innovative ideas, serving as a foothold to support innovation in manufacturing companies within the industrial complex and strengthen industrial capabilities.


The 'Materials and Components Convergence Alliance Project,' which will run until 2023, has invested a total project cost of 20 billion KRW and achieved tangible results such as sales, exports, and employment for 52 beneficiary companies.


Jang Se-yong, mayor of Gumi, said, "Through supporting the commercialization of innovative materials and components, we hope to discover technologically capable local companies, enhance their self-reliance, and help them grow into companies that lead regional development."
