[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Global recycling consulting specialist TerraCycle announced on the 15th that it is partnering with cosmetics brand Kiehl's to launch a resource circulation concept store.

Last year, TerraCycle was responsible for the raw material processing to enable cosmetic containers collected through Kiehl's customer participation to be reborn as building materials. Collaborating with Decrete, a domestic architectural craft company specializing in UHPC materials, crushed empty bottles were mixed with concrete to produce upcycled bricks and tables. The resource circulation concept store can be found on the first floor of Kiehl's Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam branch.

A representative from TerraCycle Korea said, "We are grateful to be part of the results achieved by consumers who participated in Kiehl's activities and campaigns striving for a better future," adding, "We will work with upcycling specialist partners like Decrete, who combine practicality and art, to ensure more products can be reused as new resources."

Meanwhile, TerraCycle has been conducting a cosmetic container collection campaign in partnership with Kiehl's since 2018. Participation is possible both online and offline through Kiehl's nationwide stores and the My Beauty Box application.
