[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] The blueprint for this year's 92nd Chunhyang Festival has been drawn.
The Chunhyang Festival Organizing Committee (Chairman Lee Kwang-yeon) held the first meeting of the Chunhyang Festival Organizing Committee at Namwon City Hall conference room on the 13th, and announced on the 14th that the 92nd Chunhyang Festival will be held from May 4 to 8 at the Gwanghallu Garden area.
Before this meeting, Chairman Lee Kwang-yeon and the committee members paid respects at Chunhyang's tomb in the morning to rediscover the identity of the Chunhyang Festival and honor Chunhyang's spirit and soul, reflecting on the 91-year history of the Chunhyang Festival.
This year's festival will be scaled down from May 4 to 5 considering the difficulties in holding festival events due to COVID-19, and from May 6 to 8, the festival will be flexibly organized focusing on face-to-face events for three days.
The theme of this year's Chunhyang Festival, "Again, Love," expresses the longing for the Chunhyang Festival, which left many citizens with regrets due to its non-face-to-face format in the past, and means to love the Chunhyang Festival once again like the unchanging hearts of Chunhyang and Mongryong.
Various ideas and opinions about the basic plan for the 92nd Chunhyang Festival were discussed at this meeting.
Several committee members emphasized the importance of preparing programs that attract the interest and attention of the younger generation in preparing the Chunhyang Festival events.
Also, by newly electing two external persons as auditors, the organizing committee now has a total of three auditors, which is expected to ensure transparent and professional work and accounting audits of the committee.
Chairman Lee Kwang-yeon of the Chunhyang Festival Organizing Committee said, "Since the 90th Chunhyang Festival, we have been experiencing the festival in a non-face-to-face manner due to COVID-19," and added, "This Chunhyang Festival will be made into a festival that citizens who have returned to their daily lives long for and love."
