[Asia Economy Reporter Seoyoung Kwon] Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, and Hong Joon-pyo, standing advisor of the People Power Party's election campaign headquarters, showed a united front in Daegu.
On the 12th, around 7:30 PM, the two visited Dongseong-ro in Jung-gu, Daegu, and walked approximately 300 meters for 40 minutes, urging citizens on the necessity of regime change. Advisor Hong said, "I hope we can achieve regime change this time," adding, "With our People Power Party presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, not only Daegu and Gyeongbuk but also the young people of South Korea uniting under number 2, we will make this country a place where youth have dreams and hope."
Advisor Hong also emphasized, "Having brought our candidate to Daegu and received promises regarding the issues of Daegu and Gyeongbuk, once we come to power, we will address all the issues of Daegu and Gyeongbuk within five years. I will work hard together with Leader Lee to revive the once stagnant and struggling Daegu and Gyeongbuk, enabling them to leap forward again and become the new center of South Korea."
Leader Lee stopped at the plaza in front of the old Daegu Department Store and shouted slogans such as, "Daegu citizens who love Hong Joon-pyo, you also love Yoon Seok-yeol, right?" and "Daegu citizens who cherish Lee Jun-seok, you love Yoon Seok-yeol, right?" He appealed for support for regime change, saying, "Politics that divide East and West or foster generational conflicts in South Korea should disappear, and people with similar concerns should unite their strength."
Although the two had previously clashed with candidate Yoon, they actively appealed for support for him during this campaign. According to election laws, they conveyed their intentions to citizens vocally without using microphones, and in the Dongseong-ro area, supporters and citizens gathered to see them, causing temporary congestion due to the crowd.
