The men's short track speed skating team secured a spot in the men's 5000m relay final at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Hwang Daeheon and Lee Junseo (both from Korea National Sport University), Kwak Yoon-gi (Goyang City Hall), and Kim Dong-wook (Sports Toto) finished first in the second semifinal heat of the men's 5000m relay at the Beijing Capital Indoor Stadium on the 11th, clocking a time of 6 minutes 37.879 seconds. With one lap remaining, the final skater Kwak Yoon-gi skillfully overtook the Netherlands (6 minutes 37.927 seconds). They earned a place in the final, which is granted to the top two teams from each heat. The Netherlands finished third, just 0.002 seconds behind the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC, 6 minutes 37.879 seconds). The team will compete for the gold medal against ROC, Canada, Italy, and China in the final on the 16th.
