[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] It has been found that installing a wireless car charger on the air vent where the heater operates reduces the charging speed.
The Korea Consumer Agency announced on the 8th that this was the result of testing and evaluating 10 wireless car charger products currently distributed in the market.
The products tested in this survey include Nabi (NV29-CWC15Q), The Zone (TZ-C100), Mando (MD20), Mayton (High Load ver.2), Shinji Moru (Ograb X), iNavi (SHC-20), iRiver (ICR-A300), OA (Wider P), Jupazip (CWC02), and KM Motors (Chungjal).
The Korea Consumer Agency stated, "Under high-temperature conditions above 30 degrees Celsius, such as heater air vents, charging time can increase up to 2.8 times, so consumers need to be cautious."
When measuring the time taken to fully charge a smartphone after complete discharge using these 10 products, it took about 2 hours 15 minutes to 2 hours 29 minutes at room temperature. However, under elevated temperature conditions, the charging time increased up to 2.8 times, reaching approximately 4 hours 30 minutes to 6 hours 13 minutes.
The Consumer Agency reported that none of the tested products met the international Qi certification standards. Tests on whether a stable output voltage could be sent to the smartphone and detection performance when conductive foreign substances were inserted between the smartphone and the charger showed that the standards were not met.
Mounting safety and durability were mostly excellent. In the evaluation of mounting stability against vibration and shock, eight products?Nabi, The Zone, Mando, Mayton, Shinji Moru, iNavi, OA, and Jupazip?were relatively excellent, while iRiver and KM Motors products were at a satisfactory level.
All 10 products showed no issues regarding safety such as electromagnetic wave emissions.
The Korea Consumer Agency said, "We will continue to provide safety and quality comparison information on wireless products to support consumers' rational consumption in the future."
