[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 24th that it will operate a '24-hour Comprehensive Situation Room' during the Lunar New Year holiday from the 29th of this month to the 2nd of next month.


According to the county, on the 21st, a video conference on major administrative issues between the county and the eup/myeon was held to communicate cooperation matters such as the smooth payment of the 2nd emergency disaster living expenses and COVID-19 response measures for the Lunar New Year holiday.


The personnel operating the comprehensive situation room during this Lunar New Year holiday consist of 120 people in 8 teams at the main office and 60 people in 12 eup/myeon, totaling 180 people.


The deployed personnel manage 10 areas including COVID-19 quarantine, traffic, prices, livestock quarantine, fuel supply, environment, health, disaster/safety, and forest fires. For 18 facilities managed by the county, 175 staff from 4 departments are deployed to operate while strictly adhering to quarantine rules.


Until the 6th of next month, a 'Special Situation Room for Special Quarantine Period during Lunar New Year Holiday' will also be operated to block the spread of COVID-19 through nationwide movement and family gatherings during the holiday period.


The county has established special COVID-19 quarantine measures for the Lunar New Year holiday, including campaigns to comply with social distancing such as banning private gatherings of six or more people, rapid epidemiological investigations, and operation of temporary screening clinics. It has organized 10 teams with 20 members for the Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters and 3 teams with 40 members for the Emergency Quarantine Countermeasures Team.


A field inspection team will operate to check the application of quarantine passes and compliance with core quarantine rules at 14 types of COVID-19 vulnerable facilities such as entertainment venues, karaoke rooms, and restaurants. Special quarantine activities will also be carried out at multi-use facilities such as traditional markets, terminals, and stations.


Additionally, to provide smooth health care services, health centers and general hospitals have designated and operate duty medical institutions and pharmacies, prepared special medical measures including continuous emergency room operation and ambulance standby systems.


Safety inspections of multi-use facilities were completed by the 21st, and a price countermeasure crackdown team is operating to establish distribution order by cracking down on unfair trade practices.


Furthermore, the county is delivering consolation goods worth about 40 million won to low-income families and disadvantaged/underprivileged groups (1,528 people) to create a warm holiday atmosphere.


Also, through various SNS channels, the county continuously requests holiday travelers and hometown visitors to refrain from visiting their hometowns, striving to make Boseong-gun safe from COVID-19.


A county official said, “This Lunar New Year holiday, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we ask all residents to refrain as much as possible from visiting hometowns or moving to other regions and to cooperate actively so that everyone can have a safe holiday.”
