[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] Yeosu City in Jeollanam-do announced that it has finalized the selection of the 6th term operators of ‘Nangman Pocha,’ Yeosu Night Sea’s representative tourism product, through a food tasting event held on the 22nd.
The final selected operators total 18 people, categorized as 3 socially disadvantaged individuals, 3 nearby local residents, 7 young adults, and 5 general citizens.
To ensure a fair and objective evaluation, the city appointed 10 professors from universities nationwide specializing in food, tourism, and related fields as judges to conduct the assessment.
At the food tasting event held on the 22nd in the cooking room of Yeosu Information Science High School, 52 candidates who passed the first round registered and competed by preparing their main dishes within the allotted 60 minutes.
The final operators were selected on-site by the judges who comprehensively evaluated seven categories including the cooking process, taste, creativity, and local characteristics of the dishes.
A city official stated, “Through a fair and transparent food tasting event, we have selected new operators who can provide not only delicious food but also friendly service to citizens and tourists,” adding, “We will do our best to support and manage ‘Nangman Pocha’ so that it maintains its reputation as our city’s representative tourism content and a nationwide hot place.”
The 18 operators selected for the 6th term are scheduled to officially begin operations from March 1 after signing the operation agreement and completing the handover process.
