[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun) announced on the 24th that it has prepared a special port operation plan to provide uninterrupted port services during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday period (January 29 to February 2, 5 days).
According to this plan, the authority will organize and operate an emergency duty system to promptly handle any inconveniences that may arise for port users during the holiday period and to ensure smooth port services.
In addition, to respond swiftly to various emergencies that may occur during the holiday, an emergency communication system will be established among related organizations and industry groups, and port patrols and inspections will be strengthened to maintain thorough port security measures.
In particular, the authority stated that it will conduct on-site inspections at the port during the Lunar New Year holiday to prevent any disruptions in port operations due to COVID-19, and will also strictly manage quarantine by promoting social distancing guidelines and response procedures in case of suspected symptoms.
Most of the wharves at Yeosu and Gwangyang ports will operate normally throughout the holiday period.
The container wharf will be closed on the Lunar New Year day (February 1), and some wharves will be closed according to their work schedules.
