[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 24th that it conducted a campaign to promote quarantine rules to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the local community.
The campaign held in the Saemgoeul Market area involved about 20 public officials who promoted strengthened COVID-19 quarantine rules to merchants and customers.
The campaign was organized to inform the strengthened COVID-19 quarantine rules and block the spread within the region, as many consumers visit traditional markets during the Lunar New Year holiday.
Participants in the campaign guided the expansion of the quarantine pass implementation and citizens' quarantine behavior rules so that citizens could actively participate in quarantine activities.
They also distributed promotional materials containing quarantine rules to prevent any confusion among citizens regarding strengthened social distancing measures such as restrictions on private gatherings.
In particular, during the holiday period, they encouraged local residents to actively participate and cooperate in daily quarantine measures such as refraining from gatherings and traveling to other regions, wearing masks, vaccination, and social distancing in multi-use facilities.
Along with this, they comforted and encouraged the merchants of Saemgoeul Market who are experiencing difficulties due to a sharp decline in sales caused by the COVID-19 situation, and also presented opinions on revitalizing traditional markets.
A city official said, “For everyone's health and a better recovery of daily life, please strictly follow personal quarantine rules,” and added, “We plan to promote special quarantine measures for traditional markets during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday so that they can become trusted local markets that citizens visit with confidence.”
Meanwhile, according to government quarantine guidelines, private gatherings are allowed up to six people until the 6th of next month, and business hours for restaurants and cafes are restricted until 9 p.m.
