Fire in a Multi-Family House in Jongno-gu, Seoul... 2 People Inhale Smoke

[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] At around 7:16 AM on the 24th, a fire broke out in a row house in Hongji-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

The fire started on the first floor of the three-story house, and two elderly people in their 70s inhaled smoke and were transported to a nearby hospital. Seven people inside the building evacuated on their own. The fire department deployed 20 vehicles and 73 personnel, and completely extinguished the fire by around 8:00 AM, 44 minutes later.

The police and fire department are investigating the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.
