Moonpia (CEO Kim Hwan-cheol and Shin Dong-woon), a web novel serialization platform, is conducting the "1st AStory X Moonpia IP (Intellectual Property) Cross Drama Script Contest" in collaboration with AStory (CEO Lee Sang-baek), a global comprehensive content studio. The contest's original works are Moonpia's popular web novels "12 Hours Later," "The Season When Spring Comes, We," and "12 Hours Later." Participants can freely edit or adapt the concept and content of these web novels to create drama scripts and submit them.

Submissions are accepted from March 21 to August 5 by emailing the adapted drama project proposal and two episodes of the script along with the contest application form. Both new and established writers can apply, and there are no restrictions on individuals or teams.

The total prize money is 70 million KRW. Six winning works will be selected: the Grand Prize (1 winner) will receive 25 million KRW, the Excellence Award (2 winners) will receive 15 million KRW each, and the Merit Award (3 winners) will receive 5 million KRW each. Judging criteria include understanding of the original work, planning and originality of adaptation, popularity, writing ability, story completeness, and entertainment and engagement. Since the contest aims to utilize Moonpia web novel IP, purely original works with free themes will be excluded from judging. Winners will be announced in September.

Um Seon-woong, head of Moonpia's IP Business Team, said, "Nowadays, content based on web novels and webtoons is gaining great popularity in various fields. Based on the agreement made with AStory, a renowned drama production company, last November, we have launched this drama script contest utilizing web novel IP." He added, "We ask for the interest and participation of talented writers in this project, which is planned to create competitive video content not only domestically but also in overseas markets."

During the event period, 60 out of 197 episodes of "12 Hours Later" and 30 out of 62 episodes of "The Season When Spring Comes, We" will be available for free reading.
