[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) will implement a 'Seol Comprehensive Plan' from the 28th to the 3rd of next month to block the spread of COVID-19 and ensure a safe Lunar New Year holiday period.

The district has prepared 23 projects across five areas: securing resident safety, strengthening traffic safety, resolving daily inconveniences, stabilizing holiday prices, and supporting marginalized neighbors. During the comprehensive plan period, 626 employees will work 24 hours a day to respond promptly to any emergencies.

To minimize the spread of COVID-19 during the holiday period, four screening clinics and temporary screening clinics (Jungnang-gu Public Health Center, Myeonmok Station Plaza, Mangu Station Park, Mangu Reservoir) will continue to operate. Additionally, the COVID-19 response system, including disinfection, monitoring of self-quarantined individuals, and management of home treatment patients, will be maintained without gaps.

Due to the closure of waste disposal facilities during the Lunar New Year holiday, collection work will be temporarily suspended. To minimize residents' inconvenience, a comprehensive cleaning task force, including a cleaning situation room and a civil complaint response team, will be operated. To create a pleasant holiday, a focused cleaning period will be held from the 27th to the 28th before the holiday to handle waste, and from February 2nd, all waste will be collected sequentially.

To prevent medical service gaps in the area, an emergency medical system has also been established. A total of 199 locations, including 43 on-duty medical institutions and 156 holiday pharmacies, have been designated to prevent medical service gaps. In particular, Nokseong Hospital and Dongbu Jeil Hospital provide 24-hour emergency care, and Jangse Women’s Hospital and Medirenne Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic offer continuous delivery services.

Detailed operational status is available on the Jungnang-gu Office website, the Central Emergency Medical Center website, and the 'Emergency Medical Information Service' application. Inquiries can also be made through the Dasan Call Center or the Ambulance Situation Management Center.

To ensure everyone has a warm holiday, support is also provided to marginalized neighbors. Lunar New Year consolation funds will be delivered to 12,936 basic livelihood security households, 12 communal living facilities and organizations for marginalized groups, and 46 elderly medical welfare facilities. Holiday meals will be provided to 1,476 low-income elderly at risk of food insecurity.

In addition, various projects such as disinfection inspections of multi-use facilities, maintaining emergency snow removal response systems, illegal parking enforcement, and operation of price countermeasure situation rooms will be carried out to create a holiday that residents can feel safe in.

Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “We will strive for thorough COVID-19 prevention and resolution of daily inconveniences so that residents can spend a healthy and safe Lunar New Year.” He added, “We earnestly ask all residents to comply with quarantine rules during the holiday period for a safe holiday.”

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) announced that it has prepared a comprehensive plan to protect residents from COVID-19 and ensure a happy Lunar New Year holiday, pledging to do its best to maintain public safety during the holiday period.

From the 28th to February 3rd, the district will focus on seven major areas: maintaining the COVID-19 response system, safety measures for multi-use facilities and construction sites, tailored support for marginalized groups, traffic measures, price stabilization measures, medical and cleaning measures, and establishment of public service discipline.

In particular, administrative efforts will be concentrated on thorough quarantine activities to prevent the spread of COVID-19. To this end, the Gwanak-gu Office first floor 'Comprehensive Situation Room' will serve as the center for operating the public health center screening clinic, two temporary screening clinics, a COVID-19-related information, consultation, and adverse reaction call center, and a home treatment task force. In case of confirmed cases, thorough epidemiological investigations and quarantine activities will be conducted.

Additionally, to prevent various disasters and respond quickly in emergencies, task forces for safety, traffic, medical, and cleaning functions have been formed to maintain an emergency work system. Promotion of refraining from travel during the Lunar New Year, operation of screening clinics, and compliance with social distancing will be publicized using Facebook, blogs, KakaoTalk, and other platforms.

To prepare for major safety accidents, thorough pre-inspections and maintenance will be conducted, including gas safety inspections at 19 multi-use facilities such as large stores, safety management inspections at 73 large construction sites and third-class facilities, safety inspections at 92 road construction sites and road facilities, safety inspections at 22 traditional markets, and safety inspections at 10 public sports facilities.

Along with this, a price countermeasure situation room will be operated to stabilize the supply of major seasonal products and establish a sound distribution order. Pre-investigations will also be conducted on wage arrears of workers at public construction sites and illegal or unfair subcontracting agreements.

To allow residents to enjoy the holiday without parking worries, four parking facilities including the Gwanak-gu Office affiliated parking lot and on-street public parking lots will be open free of charge during the holiday. To reduce inconvenience in waste disposal, intensive waste collection in alleys and other areas will be strengthened before the holiday begins, and a comprehensive cleaning situation room will be operated to respond to urgent complaints during the holiday.

On January 30 and February 2, waste disposal will be allowed from 6 p.m. to midnight. After the holiday, a thorough collection of residual waste and final cleaning will be conducted to maintain a clean street environment.

During the holiday, the public health center will operate a medical countermeasure situation room to provide information on accessible medical institutions and pharmacies. Inquiries can be made to the Gwanak-gu Office Medical Department or 119, and information is also available on the Gwanak-gu Public Health Center website.

Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “In these difficult times due to COVID-19, I ask everyone to comply with quarantine guidelines and refrain from visiting hometowns to protect the safety of your family and neighbors.” He added, “We will systematically and flawlessly implement the comprehensive plan in each sector during the Lunar New Year holiday to ensure that residents can have a safe and happy holiday.”
